Count the walk-in by talking.
Record a video or voice memo as you walk the shelves: "six cases of fries, one of thighs, half a bag of onions." Your Buddy turns it into a count and a weekly order list, sorted by supplier.
A restaurant inventory count in the time it takes to walk the shelves
No clipboard, no typing counts into a spreadsheet afterwards.
Record as you walk
Walk-in, freezer, dry storage. Point the camera or just talk, in your own words.
Your Buddy listens
What it hears is matched to your ingredients and the case sizes you buy. Anything it isn't sure about is marked for you to check.

Why the count matters
A regular count is what turns purchases into a real food cost.
- Real food cost: opening inventory plus purchases minus closing inventory, divided by sales. The food cost calculator explains the formula.
- Smarter orders: order amounts from what you actually use, not from habit, rounded to the case sizes you buy.
- Cheapest supplier per item: the order list is sorted by supplier using your latest prices.
- Purchases already counted: deliveries come in from the invoices you forward, so there's nothing to log by hand.
Questions
Do I need a scanner or special hardware?
No. Use your phone's camera or voice recorder and walk the shelves, then upload the recording. Only the sound is uploaded.
What should I say while counting?
Talk the way you would to a coworker: "six cases of fries, one of thighs, half a bag of onions." Your Buddy matches what it hears to your ingredients and case sizes.
What happens to the recordings?
Count recordings are deleted after 90 days; the counts stay. Only people you invite to your restaurant can see them.
How are order amounts worked out?
From your actual usage, your delivery days and the case sizes you buy. The amounts are calculated, not guessed.
